Bharat Bijlee is a pioneer in electrical engineering in India. It was established in 1946.
The company has two primary business segments: Power Systems that comprise Transformers and Projects divisions, and Industrial Systems segment comprising Electric Motors, Drives & Industrial Automation and Elevator Systems divisions.
The company caters to a spectrum of industries and the builders of the nation’s infrastructure: power, refineries, steel, cement, railways, machinery, construction and textiles.
It also undertakes turnkey projects (switchyards) and is well positioned to provide complete ‘concept to commissioning’ services
Bharat Bijlee has a state-of-the-art plant with a production capacity of 15,000 MVA and a full-fledged testing laboratory that was NABL accredited in 2014.
Bharat Bijlee provides turnkey solutions for EHV switchyards, HV and MV substations, Electrical Balance of Plant, Industrial Power Distribution and Illumination Systems. Its services encompass:

It offers a complete range of motors from 0.12kW to 1250kW that are used across industries and applications. It also as a full range of hazardous area motors in conformance with IS:5572:2009. Besides the standard range, Bharat Bijlee manufactures customized motors for special applications as well as MV motors upto 1000 kW.
The company also provides DC Drives, Servo system solutions, and an entire gamut of industrial automation solutions for enhanced precision, productivity and efficiency.
It is the first Indian manufacturer of gearless Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) for elevators.
